MW:U.S. stock futures extend drop after claims data

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock-index futures added to modest losses in the wake of data on the labor front, with the number of those applying for jobless benefits rising by 4,000 to 372,000 last week. The Labor Department data had claims rising slightly more than the 369,000 level that economists surveyed by MarketWatch expected. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJU2 -0.0076% fell 18 points to 13,136. Futures for the S&P 500 index SPU2 -0.15% lost 3.7 points to 1,408.6. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 NDU2 -0.06% were down 6.25 points at 2,775.
