The official value of the shekel rose an average of .238 percent, Thursday, in mixed trading against the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 4.003, down .67 percent, while the Euro rose .157 percent to 5.0251 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.3565, down .105 percent, while 100 Japanese yen advanced .15 percent to 5.0907 shekels. The Australian dollar declined .283 percent to NIS 4.1943, while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at 4.0392 shekels, down .547 percent.
