TH:Rupee ends flat at 55.67 against the dollar

The rupee closed flat at 55.67 against the dollar as month-end demand for the American currency from oil importers kept up the pressure on the Indian currency.

The local unit opened weaker at 55.83 against the dollar on the back of weak Asian markets. On Monday, it had closed weaker at 55.69 per US dollar.

The dollar also continued to gain against the euro and other currencies on hopes of monetary easy by the US Federal Reserve on Friday.

Intra-day, the rupee moved between a high and low of 55.61 and 55.88, respectively.
