MW: U.S. payrolls likely to be revised higher: Labor

By Greg Robb
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The Labor Department announced Thursday that it would likely raise total employment by about 386,000 or 0.3%, in its annual benchmark revision. The final benchmark results to the level of total nonfarm payrolls in March 2012 will be released in early February. Such a revision is in line with the normal revision. Analysts said the report is positive news for the labor market. The private sector was revised up by 453,000 or 0.4%, the department said.
