NEW DELHI: Nickel prices traded marginally higher by Rs 2.90 to Rs 922 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, taking a positive cues from overseas markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in January rose by Rs 2.90, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 922 per kg in business turnover of 12 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December contract edged up by 20 paise, or 0.02 per cent, to Rs 910.60 per kg in 41 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators in tandem with a firm global trend mainly led to rise in nickel futures.
Meanwhile, nickel advanced 0.2 per cent at $ 16,965 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
