MW:U.S. stock futures lower as jobless claims rise

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Stock-index futures tallied mild losses Thursday after the Labor Department reported applications for jobless benefits jumped 46,000 to 388,000 last week, with the increase larger than expected. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJZ2 -0.07% fell 9 points to 13,480. Those for the S&P 500 index SPZ2 -0.28% declined 4.3 points to 1,452.80. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 NDZ2 -0.27% declined 10.5 points to 2,760.
