New Delhi: Copper futures prices today fell by 0.30 per cent to Rs 433.75 per kg today, as speculators trimmed their positions amid a weakening global trend on demand concerns.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November fell by Rs 1.30, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 433.75 per kg, with a business turnover of 10,659 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in February shed Rs 1.20, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 439.30 per kg, with a trade volume of 777 lots.
Analysts said apart from sluggish domestic demand, a weak trend in the global markets amid worries that demand may falter after Japanese exporters fell more than economists estimated, mainly kept pressure on copper futures here.
Globally, copper for three-month delivery fell by 0.60 per cent to USD 7,694.25 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange, the lowest since September 10.
