MUMBAI: The rupee reversed its morning losses and was trading at 53.60 against the dollar as inflow of American currency helped the local unit to gain.
The rupee opened lower at 53.77 against the dollar on a weaker euro.
The domestic forex and debt markets were closed on Wednesday. The domestic unit had closed at 53.73 per dollar on Tuesday.
Month-end dollar demand from oil importers is likely to put pressure on the rupee.
