New Delhi: Copper remained weak and shed Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on sluggish industrial demand.
Sentiment in copper remained bearish after it fell in global markets on speculation that Hurricane Sandy will slow economic growth in the US, the world's second- biggest buyer of the metal.
Meanwhile, copper fell 0.6 per cent to USD 7,770.25 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper scrap remained under selling pressure and shed Rs 2 to Rs 386 per kg.
The following are metal rates per kg: Zinc ingot 102-106, nickel plate (4x4) 1,015-1,018, gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 386,chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 126, lead imported 124, aluminium ingots 128, sheet cutting 129, aluminium wire scrap 133 and aluminium utensils scrap 128.
