New Delhi: Copper remained weak and shed Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on sluggish industrial demand.
Sentiment in copper remained bearish after it fell in global markets on speculation that Hurricane Sandy will slow economic growth in the US, the world's second- biggest buyer of the metal.
Meanwhile, copper fell 0.6 per cent to USD 7,770.25 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper scrap remained under selling pressure and shed Rs 2 to Rs 386 per kg.
