NEW DELHI: Copper and nickel prices rose by Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metals market today on stockists buying in tandem with a firm global trend.
Traders said sentiment turned better as copper advanced in global markets after exports beat estimates in China, the world's largest buyer of industrial metals.
Meanwhile, copper climbed 0.4 per cent to USD 7,597.25 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4x4) rose by Rs 2 each to Rs 392 and Rs 1,027-1,030 per kg respectively.
The following are metal rates per kg: Zinc ingot 108-112, nickel plate (4x4) 1,027-1,030, gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 392, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 133, lead imported 131, aluminium ingots 128, sheet cutting 129, aluminium wire scrap 133 and aluminium utensils scrap 128.
