Crude-oil futures rose slightly in Asian trading Thursday as market participants weighed competing concerns about demand and possible supply disruptions in the Middle East. Adding to already heightened tensions in the region, Israel launched an attack Wednesday on Gaza, killing a top Hamas military commander and raising concerns about a full military conflict and the possibility of a regional war. Crude-oil futures rose in New York trading after the attack.
