CNBC:Brent Crude Oil Up $1 on Mideast, US Budget Hopes
North Sea Brent crude oil rose $1 a barrel to almost $110 on Monday as escalating violence in the Middle East fuelled concerns over oil supplies from the region and hopes rose that a U.S. budget crisis could be averted.
Brent futures for January [LCOCV1 109.66 0.71 (+0.65%) ] climbed $1 to $109.95 before slipping slightly to trade around $109.80. U.S. crude oil [LCOCV1 109.66 0.71 (+0.65%) ] rose $1.07 to a high of $87.99 before easing back to trade around $87.80.
