SYDNEY (MarketWatch) -- Hong Kong stocks gained marginally in early action on Friday, with the Hang Seng Index HK:HSI -0.26% up 0.2% at 22,283.98 ahead of key U.S. jobs data due later in the global trading day. Chinese state-owned insurance firm People's Insurance Company (Group) of China Ltd. HK:1339 0.00% , or PICC, kicked off its first day of trading by rising to HK$3.67 in early action, from an IPO price of HK$3.48 a share. Commodity-sector firms were among notable gainers in Hong Kong, with Aluminum Corp. of China Ltd. HK:2600 +2.10% ACH -1.46% up 1.5% and PetroChina Co. HK:857 +0.38% PTR +0.32% rising 0.8%. The Shanghai Composite index CN:000001 +1.60% traded down 0.1% at 2,027.93.
