MY:Rupee trades slightly higher against USD to Rs 54.25
Indian rupee gained against the greenback in noon trade on Wednesday. Rupee was marginally higher by 2 paise or 0.04% against US dollar to Rs 54.25 compared to previous close of 54.27 (12.52 p.m.). It opened at Rs 54.29 against US dollar.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.01% to 80.07 after opening at 80.06 (02:12 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.30 down 0.01% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 82.70 up 0.22% (02:24 ET).
At 12.54 p.m, the Sensex was trading up 32.97 points or 0.17% at 19,420.11 with 17 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 4.05 points or 0.07% at 5,902.85 with 26 components gaining.
