MY:Rupee falls 0.3% against USD to Rs 54.64 in noon trade
Indian rupee declined against the greenback in noon trade on Monday. Rupee was lower by 16 paise or 0.29% against US dollar to Rs 54.64 compared to previous close of 54.48 (12.28 p.m.). It opened at Rs 54.41 against US dollar.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.11% to 79.66 after opening at 79.56 (01:47 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.31 down 0.08% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 83.02 up 0.60% (01:58 ET).
At 12.32 p.m., the Sensex was trading down 67.36 points or 0.35% at 19,249.89 with 13 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 19.85 points or 0.34% at 5,859.75 with 27 components falling.
