The shekel is again stronger against the dollar and flat against the euro in inter-bank trading this morning on the foreign exchange market. The shekel-dollar exchange rate is down 0.44% in comparison with yesterday's representative rate, at NIS 3.7525/$. The shekel-euro rate is down 0.02%, at NIS 4.968/€.
On world markets, the US dollar is at $1.324/€ as dollar suffers worldwide with the US unable to reach an accommodation between the Democrats and Republicans regarding the fiscal cliff.
In Israel it remains unclear whether the Bank of Israel will keep the interest rate for January unchanged at 2% or lower it by another 25 basis points following the unexpected 0.5% fall in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in November.
Atrade believes that the shekel dollar exchange rate is taking giant strides down to NIS 3.71/$.
