Indian rupee gained against the greenback in morning trade on Wednesday. Rupee was marginally up by 4 paise or 0.12% against USD to Rs 54.78 compared to previous close of 54.85 (09.22 a.m.).
Emkay Global Financial Services expects Indian rupee to be stronger today, as stronger Euro internationally can push Indian rupee against dollar.
Euro - USD was trading at 1.32 up 0.06% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 84.29 up 0.08% (22:48 ET).
At 09.23 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 118.21 points or 0.61% at 19,482.96 with 28 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 34.40 points or 0.58% at 5,931.20 with 45 components gaining.
