ET:Euro rises broadly, hits 7-1/2 month high versus pound
LONDON: The euro rose to a 7-1/2 month high against the British pound in thin trading conditions on Monday as speculators continued to trim short positions against the single currency amid waning worries about the euro zone debt crisis.
The euro also rose to a session high against the dollar of $1.3234 with offers cited above $1.3240.
The euro was up 0.2 per cent at 81.69 pence, its highest level since early May, with the British pound also underperforming the single currency amid lingering concerns about the UK economy.
