BS:Copper, nickel firm up on sustained demand
 
Copper and nickel prices firmed up at the non-ferrous metal market here today on sustained stockist buying amidst higher demand from industrial users.

Meanwhile, brass sheet cutting dropped owing to subdued demand from consumer industries.

The industrial metal was closed at the LME for 'Boxing Day Holiday.
Nickel and copper armiture shot-up by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 1,110 and Rs 475 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,105 and Rs 470.
Copper scrap heavy climbed by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 484 from Rs 480. Copper utensils scrap rose by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 475 from Rs 470.

Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar moved up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 492 and Rs 520 from Rs 490 and Rs 518.

However, brass sheet cutting fell by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 331 from Rs 336 previously.

Tin edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 1,413 from Rs 1,415.

Copper sheet cutting and aluminium utensil scrap both softened by a rupee per kg to Rs 469 and Rs 116.
