MW: Bank of American, Delta hitting 52-week highs

On a down day for the markets, shares of financials and airlines are notable for hitting 52-week highs on strong volume Monday.

Bank of America BAC -0.29% is up sharply on its settlement with Fannie Mae over mortgage securities woes. The stock rose 0.4% in recent trading to $12.16 a share. No doubt Mr. Buffett is pleased that those warrants he picked up in late 2011 are now decisively in the money. Shares of Barclays BCS +3.07% also hit a 52-week high Monday.

Among airline stocks, Delta DAL +0.50% is up more than 2% at $13.26. Southwest LUV +0.64% is also at a 52-week high, rising nearly 1% to $10.98. In recent weeks, analysts have been warming up to airline stocks.
