MY:Rupee gains 25 paise against US dollar to 54.76
Indian rupee gained against US dollar on Wednesday. It was higher by 25 paise or 0.45% against US dollar to Rs 54.76 compared to previous close of 55. It was opened higher at Rs 55.01 against US dollar.
The Sensex declined 75.93 or 0.38% at 19,666.59 with 19 components posting drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went down by 30.20 or 0.50% at 5,971.50 with 39 components registering drop.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.15% to 80.45 compared with previous close of 80.34 (05:59 ET). It was opened at 80.38.
