WASHINGTON, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices rose modestly overnight in advance of a weekly stockpile report, but still held under $94 per barrel Wednesday in New York.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange added 20 cents to $93.44 per barrel. Gasoline shed 2.08 cents to settle at $2.7736 a gallon. Home heating oil added 0.7 cents to $3.0655 a gallon.
The price of natural gas lost 6.6 cents to $3.152 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, AAA reported the national average price for regular unleaded gasoline rose to $3.304 per gallon from Tuesday's $3.30.
