ET:Copper futures rise on global cues, spot demand
NEW DELHI: Buoyed by a firm global trend and increased domestic demand, copper prices rose marginally up by 0.17 per cent to Rs 446.75 per kg in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April traded higher by 75 paise, or 0.17 per cent to Rs 446.75 per kg in business turnover of 10,194 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in February edged up by 70 paise, or 0.16 per cent to Rs 446.75 per kg in 542 lots.
Market analaysts said besides increased demand from consuming industries, supported the upside in copper prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months increased 0.3 per cent to $ 8,021.25 dollar a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
