MY:Rupee slightly higher against US dollar in noon trade
Indian rupee slightly gained against the greenback in post noon trade on Thursday. Rupee was up by 3 paise or 0.07% against US dollar to Rs 54.65 compared to previous close of 54.69 (12.19 p.m.). It opened at Rs 54.70 against US dollar.
"USDINR found strong resistance at 54.90 levels, which needs to clear to attract any potential gains. Failure of which can take prices back to 54.50 followed by 54.35 levels," said Emkay Global Financial Services.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.01% to 79.79 compared to previous close of 79.80 (01:37 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.32 up 0.05% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 88.58 up 0.23% (01:46 ET).
At 12.20 p.m, the Sensex was trading up 76 points or 0.38% at 19,893.63 with 15 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 19.10 points or 0.32% at 6,020.95 with 27 components gaining.
