NEW DELHI: Nickel futures prices today rose by 0.29 per cent to Rs 935.40 per kg, after speculators enlarged their positions amid a firming trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in January rose by Rs 2.70, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 935.40 per kg in business turnover of 2,382 lots. Similarly, the metal for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 2.60, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 943.10 per kg in 275 lots.
Market analysts said besides rising spot demand, a firming trend at the London Metal Exchange as European finance ministers approved the next disbursement of aid for Greece, raising demand outlook for base metals, helped nickel futures to trade higher.
