Indian rupee slightly gained against the greenback in post noon trade on Wednesday. Rupee was higher by 3 paise or 0.06% against US dollar to Rs 53.77 compared to previous close of 53.80 (12.20 p.m.). It opened at Rs 53.68 against US dollar. In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.02% to 79.86 compared to previous close of 79.87 (01:40 ET). Euro - USD was trading at 1.33 down 0.15% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 88.22 down 0.55% (01:45 ET). At 12.22 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 37.64 points or 0.19% at 20,019.21 with 16 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 8.20 points or 0.14% at 6,056.70 with 24 components gaining.
