NEW DELHI: Amid weak global trend and subdued domestic demand, nickel prices traded lower by 0.75 per cent to Rs 986.80 per kg in futures trade today on reduced offtake by speculators.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in February traded lower by Rs 7.50, or 0.75 per cent to Rs 986.80 per kg in business turnover of 20,246 lots.
In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in March shed Rs 7, or 0.70 per cent to Rs 991.90 per kg in 1150 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in nickel futures to a weak global trend and subdued demand from alloy-maker in the spot market.
Meanwhile, nickel fell 0.1 per cent to $ 18,690 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
