RTTN:Swiss Franc Slides To 6-day Low Against Euro Amid SNB Chief Jordan's Comments
The Swiss franc edged lower against its major opponents following the comments made by the Swiss National Bank President Thomas Jordan in Geneva that the central bank is ready to take additional measures without restrictions for franc ceiling to prevent deflation.
While noting that European recession has slowed growth, Jordan reiterated the growth forecast will remain between 1.0 percent to 1.5 percent in 2013.
The franc fell to a 6-day low of 1.2358 against the euro following Jordan's remarks. The Swiss franc also declined to 0.9216 against the dollar, 102.34 against the yen and 1.4364 against the pound immediately following the comments.
