MY:Rupee down marginally against US dollar to 53.87
Indian rupee fell marginally against the US dollar in post noon trade on Wednesday. Rupee was down by 2 paise or 0.3% against US dollar to Rs 53.87 compared to previous close of 53.85 (2:00 p.m.). It opened at Rs 53.76 against US dollar.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.11% to 80.02 compared to previous close of 80.11 (02:36 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.35 up 0.09% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 94.25 down 0.25% (02:47 ET).
At 13.19., the Sensex was trading up 127.93 points or 0.65% at 19,688.97 with 16 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 38.70 points or 0.65% at 5,961.20 with 28 components gaining.
