Mumbai, Feb 15 (PTI) Indian rupee on Friday gained six paise to 53.86 against the dollar in early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange on fresh selling of the US currency by exporters.
Forex dealers said strengthening of yen against the dollar overseas also supported the rupee.
The local currency had lost 10 paise to close at 53.92 on Thursday due to renewed dollar demand.
Meanwhile, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) benchmark index Sensex fell by 39.26 points, or 0.
