FRX: US Dollar Screaming Higher On Empire Fed And Bernanke
The US dollar is broadly stronger following upbeat manufacturing data and optimistic comments from Bernanke.
USD/JPY has risen as high as 93.53 compared to 92.73 thirty minutes ago. The USD strength has also spilled over to the commodity currencies. AUD/USD has slumped to a three day low at 1.0315 while USD/CAD is at 1.0040.
So far the European currencies have been spared but gold is collapsing hard, to the lowest since August as key support at $1625 gives way and stops are flushed.
