Indian rupee slightly declined against the greenback in noon trade on Monday. Rupee was lower by 4 paise or 0.09% against US dollar to Rs 54.27 compared to previous close of 54.22 (12.24 p.m.). It opened at Rs 54.42 against US dollar.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.05% to 80.61 compared to previous close of 80.58 (01:49 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.33 down 0.09% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 93.94 up 0.47% (01:56 ET).
At 12.31 p.m, the Sensex was trading up 57.68 points or 0.30% at 19,525.83 with 18 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 14.35 points or 0.24% at 5,901.75 with 31 components gaining.
