ET:Silver moves up in futures trade on higher global cues
NEW DELHI: Silver prices rose by 0.38 per cent to Rs 56,275 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions, taking a positive cue from overseas markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in the month of March rose by Rs 212, or 0.38 per cent to Rs 56,275 per kg in a business turnover of 10,083 lots.
Similarly, metal for delivery in May contract gained Rs 216, or 0.38 per cent to Rs 57,655 per kg in 928 lots.
Market analysts said speculators created fresh positions in tandem with a firm global trend mainly leading to rise in silver futures.
Meanwhile, silver climbed by 0.9 per cent to 30.06 dollar an ounce in Singapore.
