At 12.13 p.m. local time, the rupee was trading higher at 53.82 against the dollar. The rupee jumped to 53.63 against the dollar in its opening trade.
The Indian currency had closed 21 paise stronger at 53.87 on Wednesday after the Government announced the turnaround of the economy in FY14 with higher growth and lower fiscal deficit targets in the pre-Budget Economic Survey.
