New Delhi: Crude oil futures prices rose by 0.34 per cent to Rs 4,957 per barrel on Thursday as speculators created fresh positions amid a firm trend in Asia. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in March gained Rs 17, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 4,957 per barrel, with a business turnover of 8,728 lots.
The oil for April delivery moved up by a similar margin to trade at Rs 5,009 per barrel in a business turnover of 825 lots. Market men said the rise in crude oil futures was largely in tandem with a firming trend in Asia.
Meanwhile, crude oil for April delivery advanced by 3 cents to USD 90.46 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
