The euro edged sharply higher against its major rivals at the beginning of Thursday's European session.
The euro climbed to a fresh 2-week high of 1.2341 against the Swiss franc and 10-day highs of 122.48 against the yen and 0.8688 against the pound around 3:10 am ET.
The common currency also snapped back above the key 1.30 level against the US dollar, rising as much as 1.3020 around 3:10 am ET.
If the euro extends rally, likely resistance levels are seen at 1.3050 against the dollar, 0.8755 against the pound, 1.2350 against the Swiss franc and 124.45/50 against the yen.
