Indian rupee was higher against the greenback in noon trade on Friday. Rupee went up 10 paise or 0.19% against US dollar to Rs 54.46 compared to previous close of 54.56 (12.23 p.m.). It opened at Rs 54.52 against US dollar.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.22% to 82.26 compared to previous close of 82.08 (01:49 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.30 down 0.17% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 95.29 up 0.50% (01:54 ET).
At 12.30 p.m, the Sensex was trading up 106.06 points or 0.55% at 19,519.60 with 21 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 35.65 points or 0.61% at 5,898.95 with 36 components gaining.
