ET:Copper, zinc prices rise on higher global trend
NEW DELHI: Copper and zinc prices were up by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metals market today largely on firming global trend.
Sentiment improved after copper rose in global markets, as the demand outlook improved after euro-area finance ministers approved a bailout deal for Cyprus.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months added 0.2 per cent to USD 7,671 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and zinc ingot rose by Rs 2 each to Rs 441 and Rs 127-133 per kg, respectively.
The following are metal rates per kg: Zinc ingot 127-133, nickel plate (4x4) 1,062-1,065, gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 441, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 146, lead imported 144, aluminium ingots 142, sheet cutting 143, aluminium wire scrap 146 and aluminium utensils scrap 142.
