BS:Copper down 0.4% on weak global cues

Copper futures for April declined by Rs 1.55, or 0.37%, to Rs 415.55 per kg in 4,261 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the June contract fell by 0.33%, to Rs 421.60 per kg in 259 lots.

Prices went down as speculators trimmed their positions.

Speculation that demand for metals will slow as China, world's biggest consumer, will take steps to tame inflation putting pressure on copper futures trade here.

On the London Metal Exchange (LME), the three-month contract traded 0.50% lower at $7,620 per tonne.
