Indian rupee was slightly higher against the greenback in noon trade on Thursday. Rupee was trading up 2 paise or 0.04% against US dollar to Rs 54.34 compared to previous close of 54.36 (12.23 p.m.). It opened at Rs 54.45 against US dollar. In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.14% to 83.09 compared to previous close of 83.22 (02:42 ET). Euro - USD was trading at 1.28 up 0.16% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 94.15 down 0.33% (02:50 ET). At 12.19 p.m, the Sensex was trading down 51.08 points or 0.27% at 18,653.45 with 18 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 7.90 points or 0.14% at 5,633.70 with 27 components falling.
