ET:Sugar prices up on fresh buying, higher mills advices
 
NEW DELHI: Sugar prices firmed up by Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today following fresh buying support from stockist, retailers and bulk consumers amid higher mills advices.

Marketmen said pick up in demand from bulk consumers such as ice-cream and softdrink makers for the summer season against restricted supply from mills mainly pushed up sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices improved from the last close of Rs 3200-3300 and Rs 3180-3290 to Rs 3250-3350 and Rs 3225-3325 per quintal, respectively.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices gained from Rs 3090-3180 and Rs 3080-3150 to Rs 3100-3200 and Rs 3090-3175 per quintal, respectively.

Among millgate including duty section, sugar Mawana, Budhana, Dorala and Thanabhavan all hardened by Rs 50 each to Rs 3200 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar Modinagar and Khatauli also moved up by Rs 50 each to Rs 3190 and Rs 3195 per quintal, while Dhampur rose by Rs 40 to Rs 3180 per quintal.
