The Japanese yen trimmed some of its Asian session advance against other major currencies in early deals on Monday.
The yen dropped to 142.57 against the pound and 93.77 against the US dollar around 6:15 am ET from Asian session's fresh 3-week highs of 141.86 and 93.29, respectively.
The yen that climbed to fresh monthly highs of 119.53 against the euro and 98.28 against the Swiss franc in the Asian session retreated to as low as 120.21 and 98.81, respectively around 6:20 am ET.
The yen also erased gains against the resource-linked currencies in early European deals on Monday. The yen that jumped to a weekly high of 91.73 against the Canadian dollar in the Asian session pulled back to as low as 92.22 around 6:20 am ET.
The Japanese currency slipped to 97.67 against the Australian dollar and 78.47 against the New Zealand dollar around 6:20 am ET. This was down from Asian session's fresh 3-week high of 97.10 against the aussie and a 2-week high of 78.0 against the New Zealand dollar.
