ET:Nickel, lead prices rise on overseas cues, industrial demand
NEW DELHI: Prices of nickel and lead rose by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metals market today largely in tandem with a firming trend overseas and pick up in industrial demand.
Traders said fresh buying by stockists and a firm global trend mainly attributed the rise in nickel and lead prices.
Meanwhile, nickel rose 0.5 per cent to $16,130 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, nickel (4x4) rose by Rs 2 to Rs 1,056-1,059, while lead ingot and lead imported were also traded higher by similar margin to Rs 142 and Rs 140 per kg, respectively.
The following are metal rates per kg: Zinc ingot 121-127, nickel plate (4x4) 1,056-1,059, gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 428, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 142, lead imported 140, aluminium ingots 140, sheet cutting 141, aluminium wire scrap 144 and aluminium utensils scrap 140.
