MY:Rupee plunges 29 paise against US dollar to Rs 54.54
Indian rupee was trading lower against the greenback in noon trade on Friday. Rupee was trading down 29 paise or 0.54% against US dollar to Rs 54.54 compared to previous close of 54.24 (12.11 p.m.). It opened at Rs 54.60 against US dollar.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.03% to 82.76 compared to previous close of 82.79 (02:30 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.30 down 0.02% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 101.05 up 0.46% (02:36 ET).
At 12.10 p.m, the Sensex was trading up 30.34 points or 0.15% at 19,969.38 with 16 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 8.70 points or 0.14% at 6,058.85 with 25 components gaining.
