ET:Silver futures down 0.25 pc on lower global trend
NEW DELHI: Tracking a weak global trend, silver prices moved down by 0.25 per cent to Rs 45,006 per kg in futures trade today as speculators partially offloaded positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July moved down by Rs 112, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 45,006 per kg in business turnover of 665 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in September declined by Rs 103, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 45,654 per kg in 35 lots.
Market analysts said speculators trimmed positions in tandem with a weak global trend as strength in the dollar curbed demand for the precious metals, put pressure on silver futures here.
Meanwhile, silver fell by 0.92 per cent to USD 23.65 an ounce in New York in yesterday's trade.
