NEW DELHI: Copper prices moved up by 0.15 per cent to Rs 409.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions on firm global cues.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June traded higher by 60 paise, or 0.15 per cent to Rs 409.60 per kg in business turnover of 23004 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in August contract edged up by 45 paise, or 0.11 per cent to Rs 413.90 per kg in 1780 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in copper futures to a firm global trend.
Meanwhile, copper climbed 1.3 per cent to 7,399 dollar a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
