Nickel traded higher by 0.46% to Rs 827.60 per kg in futures trading today on the back of pick-up in demand from alloy-makers in the spot market even as metal weakened at the London Metal Exchange.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in June rose by Rs 4.20, or 0.46%, to Rs 827.60 per kg in business turnover of 10,990 lots.
Similarly, nickel for delivery in the July contract moved up by Rs 3.50, or 0.42%, to Rs 833.20 per kg in 791 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in nickel futures to rising demand from alloy-makers in the spot market but metal's weakness at the London Metal Exchange, capped the gains.
