In a similar fashion, copper for delivery in August contract declined by Rs 3.70, or 0.91%, to Rs 403.40 per kg in 4053 lots.

Market analysts said speculators trimmed their positions in line with a weak global trend on concern that slower growth in China, the biggest user, will damp metals demand mainly pulled down copper prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, copper fell 1.2% to 6,713.50 dollar a metric ton on the London Metal Exchange.
