BLBG: Michigan Consumer Sentiment Decreased to 83.9 in July From 84.1
The Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan preliminary sentiment index for July fell to 83.9 from 84.1 a month earlier. The median forecast in a Bloomberg survey of 66 economists called for a gain to 84.7.
Forecasts ranged from 80 to 88, according to the Bloomberg survey. The index averaged 64.2 during the recession ended in June 2009, and 89 in the five years prior to the 18-month slump.
