NEW DELHI: Nickel prices up by 0.20 per cent to Rs 803.30 per kg in futures trade on Tuesday as speculators created fresh positions, tracking a strong cues from overseas markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in July rose by Rs 1.60, or 0.20 per cent to Rs 893.30 per kg in business turnover of 5523 lots.
Likewise, the metal for August contract added Rs 1.10, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 811.50 per kg in 575 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in nickel futures to fresh positions created by speculators in line with a firm global trend.
Meanwhile, nickel climbed 0.3 per cent to $ 13,550 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
